Broken foot stops coaching for 8 weeks

Some of you might know that on 5 August I hopped a fence at Dibden Golf Centre, rushing to my car near the chipping green. Unfortunately, the fence panel snapped, I fell to the floor and had to go to A&E - where they’d confirmed I’d fractured my left foot. I was put in a boot which wasn’t ideal but meant I could still get around and deliver lessons.

A few weeks later, I was called in for a CT scan to see how it was healing but unfortunately it wasn’t quite healing correctly, with a risk that it could cause long-term damage and arthritis.

So, on Wednesday 31 August, I was back at Southampton General Hospital for surgery which included re-breaking my foot and fitting screws and plates. The surgery went well and I’m now resting up at home.

I’ve been advised not to put any weight on my foot for 8 weeks so I’ve currently closed my booking system for September and October, and I’m in the process of cancelling any upcoming lessons.

I appreciate the situation isn’t ideal and I’m really sorry for any inconvenience in re-booking lessons, but I’d like to thank everyone for being so understanding and for your kind messages. It’s a really frustrating and challenging time so your support is really valued. Thank you.
