Successful first Pro-Am at Skylark
On Monday 3 September, I was really proud to play in the inaugural Pro-Am at Skylark - and it was a huge success.
There were 23 teams taking part and the whole day was run very smoothly by Ashley, Angie and their team.
With a 10.00am shotgun start, myself and my team - consisting of three members from Skylark - started from the 12th hole. I got off to a nice start birdieing 12, 13 and 14 and was going along nicely in the individual competition. The team got off to a great start making the turn in 12 under par!
We finished the round and followed it up with some lovely food (as always at the club) and waited for the presentation.
My team did great all day and managed to finish in 2nd place. The guys won new Titelist stand bags for their efforts! A very happy team!
Jon Barnes took home the winner's trophy by breaking the course record with an eight under 61, and I was really happy to finish with a 3 under par 66, taking 4th place out of the professionals.
Overall, it was a really great day and I'm already looking forward to next year's, when we're all wanting to go one place higher... :)
